PASSAIC VALLEY SEWERAGE COMMISSION SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC AND ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission ("PVSC or the Commission") recently closed on a $15,693,017 loan with the NJ Water Bank to implement solar generation as a dominant renewable energy source. PVSC will utilize roofs, floodwalls, and canopies for the installation of a Photovoltaic ("PV") System that will generate approximately 5 megawatts ("MW") of power. The goal is to develop, commission, operate and maintain a Renewable Power Generation System (RPGS) that will allow the Commission to operate independently of the grid, in the event of severe storms. The power generated will be used to offset utility power.
