The Deptford Township MUA recently closed on two loans with the NJ Water Bank totaling $2,491,877 for the rehabilitation of the East Woodbury sanitary sewer and water mains. The mains were constructed in the 1920's through the 1960's and are deteriorating. The sewer main project in the East Woodbury developments entailed the replacement of approximately 3,970 linear feet (LF) of existing 8-inch diameter asbestos cement pipes with 8-inch diameter concrete lined ductile iron pipe. Approximately 2,850 LF of existing 8-inch diameter terra cotta sanitary sewer mains were also restored as well as associated manholes using CIPP lining.
The water main project entails the replacement of approximately 3,970 LF of existing 8-inch diameter asbestos cement water mains with concrete lined ductile iron pipe. Approximately 60 LF of 12-inch diameter ductile iron pipe will be replaced and two sanitary manhole castings will be reset.
