NJWSA LOAN CLOSING

The NJ Water Supply Authority (NJWSA) recently closed on a $15,224,595 construction loan with the NJ Water Bank to restore structures and preserve existing resources at the Round Valley Reservoir. The proposed improvements will decrease seepage, repair the reservoir leak near the invert of the south tower, replace the 10-inch connecting force main at the south valve vault, rehabilitate pumps #4, #5, #7, and #8 at South Branch Pumping Station, and refill the reservoir. Additionally, NJWSA is proposing dredging activities along an 800-foot-long in-water channel near the South Tower Intake Channel of the Round Valley Reservoir to remove sediment and restore the channel to its original lines and grades to regain operational function of the intake. The channel was originally excavated through overburden and rock and is approximately 800 feet long and, on average, 25 feet wide at the base. The proposed project also includes the relocation of the sediment materials removed from the South Tower Intake Channel.
