Celebrating Infrastructure Week!
The Jersey Water Works Education and Outreach committee organized many ways to celebrate Infrastructure Week.
Tuesday, May 14th
Catherine McCabe, Commissioner of the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, was joined by Chris Sturm, Managing Director of Water and Policy for New Jersey Future, Daniel Van Abs, Associate Professor at Rutgers University and Ingrid Reed, Retired Director of the New Jersey Project of the Rutgers Eagleton Institute of Politics to discuss New Jersey's water quality.
The Pinelands Preservation Alliance hosted a workshop in Evesham from 6 to 8 pm to introduce a toolkit they developed to help towns make better use of green infrastructure.
Wednesday, May 15th
Stacey Eriksen from EPA Region 8 and Andy Kricun from the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority hosted a webinar on how green infrastructure can bring environmental, economic, and social benefits to the neediest communities.
On Thursday, May 16th
Jersey Water Works, in partnership with the Department of Environmental Protection, the NJ Infrastructure Bank, and New Jersey Future, offered a seminar to walk attendees through the "Applicant's Guide for Obtaining Water Bank Funding For Green Infrastructure Projects," including a live demonstration of web-integrated components.
The Jersey Water Works Education and Outreach Committee and the City of Asbury Park offered a tour of the City's wastewater treatment facility which was followed by a networking event.
