CUMBERLAND COUNTY UTILITIES AUTHORITY

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Cumberland County Utilities Authority recently closed on a $5,797,247 loan with the NJ Water Bank to rehabilitate its wastewater treatment plant. The project includes the restoration of concrete surfaces, inside and out of the diversion chambers, equalization basin, primary clarifiers, aeration tanks, secondary clarifiers and chlorine contact tanks. This work will address structural deficiencies and protect against further corrosion and deterioration. In addition to the concrete rehabilitation, weakened piping and inefficient blowers will be replaced.

This project also includes asset management planning and feasibility evaluations for this and future capital improvements. The proposed improvements will extend the useful life of the critical treatment facility allowing the CCUA to continue to provide critical wastewater treatment throughout the service area.
