SEASIDE HEIGHTS STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Borough of Seaside Heights recently closed on a $2 million loan with the NJ Water Bank to implement stormwater management improvements that include replacing water mains and inlet structures.

The Borough experiences localized flooding in several areas partly because many of the roadways do not have enough inlets to capture stormwater and convey it through storm sewer pipes. The alleviation of localized flooding along Barnegat Avenue will provide tidal protection and water quality improvements to stormwater discharging to Barnegat Bay.

This project will reduce localized flooding, provide additional sediment capture within the storm sewer system, and provide resiliency to stormwater infrastructure for impacts from climate change.
