The Mantua Township Municipal Utilities Authority (MTMUA) recently closed on a $2,250,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to complete sanitary sewer projects that will reduce maintenance time and costs, improve safety, and improve system monitoring. The Authority evaluated the water and sewer infrastructure within the township to identify equipment and components that were aging and needed replacement. The Authority proactively identified three sanitary sewer projects that will protect and enhance the system, reducing the risk of future service interruption. Water quality benefits include the protection of local water bodies from disturbances related to chemical leaching and accidental discharges from the aging infrastructure.
The Barnsboro PS project consists of the construction of a new gravity collection system, a duplex pumping station and force main to support existing properties along Barnsboro Road and Breakneck Road in Mantua Township.
