Ocean Township Sewer Authority recently closed on a $3,500,000 construction loan with the NJ Water Bank to reconstruct the Interlaken Pump Station. The project proposes to raise the building to prevent future flooding including partial excavation of the pre-existing WWTP primary settling tank and construction of a new wet well and valve chamber within its existing walls. Three new 85 horsepower submersible pumps with an individual pumping capacity of 3,250 gallons per minute will replace the existing pumps. An existing pump station building will be replaced to house the mechanical equipment, electrical systems and controls, bioxide system and standby generator. The existing 1,500-gallon bioxide tank will be replaced with a 2,000-gallon tank and approximately 105 linear feet of 18-inch ductile iron force main will be installed. The Bulkhead at the station will be repaired in kind.
