Toms River Municipal Utilities Authority (TRMUA) recently closed on a $1,176,926 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to purchase a replacement dump truck, a utility vehicle with a crane, a JetVac vehicle, three portable generators for Pumps stations and four new wet well-mounted grinders.
The TRMUA aggressively maintains, inspects, and repairs conditions of approximately 430 miles of gravity sewer mains and 20 pump stations. The current vehicles and generators have outlived their useful lives and replacements are needed to continue uninterrupted maintenance of the aging infrastructure. The proposed wet well-mounted grinders will reduce pump clogs and malfunctions due to non-woven fabrics in the collection systems at four stations.
