The Franklin Township Sewerage Authority (FTSA) recently closed on a $3,939,840 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank to replace approximately 13,310 feet of deteriorated piping. A closed-circuit television inspection of the sewerage system located in the Marcy Street area determined that a significant portion of the laterals were made up of Orangeburg pipe and showed substantial deterioration. The mainline piping also showed signs of deterioration with sections containing dips that were retaining wastewater. The proposed project will involve the cleaning of the sewer pipe, gravity sewer and lateral replacement, cured-in-place lining, service lateral replacement, manhole rehabilitation, and roadway reconstruction. These changes will reduce extraneous flows into the sewer system, significantly improving its structural integrity.
