Hamburg Borough recently closed on a $743,199 loan with the NJ Water Bank to rehabilitate and upgrade its existing sanitary sewer system. The Borough owns, operates, and maintains a sanitary sewerage distribution system which benefits approximately 3,200 residents through approximately 1,000 connections. The project will rehabilitate the Quarry Road sanitary sewer pump station by installing two new pumps and a new rail system for pumps & floats in the wet well. Additional new equipment includes a hoist system, a control panel, a level control system, and a back-up generator. Back-up pumps will be purchased for the Gingerbread Castle, Heritage Lakes, Limekiln Road, and Michael Court Pump Stations. The Borough also plans to correct Infiltration & Inflow. This project will maintain, repair, and renew the Borough's infrastructure to comply with regulatory standards and preserve water quality.
