Point Pleasant Beach Borough recently closed on a $2,540,000 loan with the New Jersey Water Bank for a water main replacement on Ocean Avenue which is believed to have been installed in 1924. In accordance with the asset management plan, approximately 9,700 linear feet of 6-inch water main will be replaced with 8-inch piping and the borough will seek Nano principal forgiveness upon long-term closing.
The project includes preparation, creation, and implementation of the Long-term Control Plan (LTCP) as well as CSO separation for sections of James, Clay and Court Streets. Existing drainage structures will be replaced with new separated drainage systems that incorporate inlets to increase stormwater storage capacity and reduce the frequency of flooding and CSO discharging events. The final stages of the LTCP include future sewer separation in the region.
