Ridgewood Village recently closed on a $3,882,987 loan with the NJ Water Bank to install new raw water mains to convey water supply from the village wells to a centralized treatment facility for the removal of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). These chemicals are commonly used in a wide range of industrial processes and are found in many consumer products where they can penetrate the water supply and affect drinking water quality.
The project will include the installation of approximately 7,106 linear feet of 6- and 10-inch diameter ductile iron pipe for the new water mains. The project will address the water quality needs of the existing service area and enable Ridgewood Village to comply with the Federal and State Safe Drinking Water Act requirements.
