The Toms River Municipal Utilities Authority (TRMUA) recently closed on an $7,500,000 loan with the NJ Water Bank to rehabilitate its sanitary sewer.
Thorough infrastructure inspections and analyses have resulted in the implementation of a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) that revealed the necessity of continuing maintenance and upgrades to provide efficient operations while preventing catastrophic failures to the surrounding water bodies contributing to the Barnegat Bay. Since the TRMUA began aggressive rehabilitation of pipes and manholes beginning in 2010, the metered treatment flows have been consistently reduced by approximately 400 MG/Yr.
This project proposes the replacement of different pipe sections, a sewer/manhole rehabilitation, and the directional drilling installation of supplemental force mains to backup force mains that were installed over 45 years ago.
